I have a technical problem on accessing a course – who should I contact?

If you have a technical query (as opposed to a query over content), relating to the site or registration problems, email, addressing your query ‘Training site issue’.

Technical support is available during office hours – ie 9:00am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Email queries outside of office hours will be dealt with on the next business day. There is no limit on the number of times the support facility can be contacted.  

How long should the modules take me to complete?

You should refer to individual modules for an idea of how long they will take. Each course gives an indication of the average time it takes to complete. However, it may take longer if you visit additional references/hyperlinks.

Will CPD points be awarded for these modules?

Some courses have been approved by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) to attract CPD points. Where CPD points can be awarded, this is shown in the course heading.

When you first register on to the site you will be asked whether you will be claiming CPD Points – select ‘Yes’ and also ensure that you input your Practising Certificate Number. If you wish to edit any part of your profile after registration this can be done through 'edit profile'.

When you complete a CPD-accredited course, you must take an assessment consisting of a number of questions, related to the course content. If you complete the assessment successfully you will then be asked to complete the Course Evaluation Questionnaire. Only then will the site generate a CPD Code.

Is there anything I need to know, from a technical point of view, before starting the course?

We have included a ‘how to navigate the modules’ document at the start of each course that details some points on accessing the module (eg whether you are accessing the course in Internet Explorer 8, how to move back and forth through the module etc).

Do I need any special software to access these modules?

You will need Adobe Reader and Adobe Flash Player. These are both free to download.

Are there any restrictions on the number of times I can access a module?

There are no restrictions to the number of times you can access a module.
